What about width & height?

Don't make the width higher than 700 pixels.  The site is optimized for 1024x768 resolution, and images wider than 700 pixels will cause the site to align things improperly.  It won't damage anything, but it might distract the viewer and cause your story to not look its best.

Height isn't a big deal, do what you need to get your effect across.  Just keep the width at or under 700 pixels.

Keep in mind, you can make your images as small as you want, so long as you stay within the limits above.
