With Memoirs of a Cobra I wanted to tell the story of one man's journey through the Cobra organization.  The story is set in the mid-80's when the GI Joe toyline was in its very prime.  In this story I try to keep in continuity with both the comic books and the cartoon, however I do not use either of them as a direct reference. Consequently there may be some minor deviations from either storyline.

I may occasionally take the liberty of intermingling newer characters and troops with older ones.  From my perspective, some of the newer characters and troops were probably around in the Cobra organization prior to their release as toys.

One thing I wanted to mention is that Memoirs of a Cobra is not intended in any way to promote terrorism or anarchy.  The story is told from the perspective of a man who joins the Cobra organization because he has no other choice.  While a member of Cobra, he sees the organization and its followers on many levels.  It is sometimes said that "One man's terrorist is another man's revolutionary," and I think that many of Cobra's followers believe their actions are the actions of revolutionaries, not terrorists.  However, it is the leadership of Cobra, Cobra Commander and his inner circle, who know the real agenda for Cobra.  It is their agenda that truly defines the Cobra organization as a terrorist organization bent on world domination.
